Spanish ingenuity for the Galapagos puzzle

The Galapagos Islands are located 1,000 kilometers off the coast of Ecuador, with paradisiacal beaches, unspoiled nature and striking endemic animals, a natural paradise where respect for the ecosystem has to coexist with the well-being of citizens, which is not always easy. The archipelago's supply deficiencies cause recurrent episodes of shortages of basic commodities among the population, a situation that prompted CAF-Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean to launch a project at the beginning of the current decade to design a roadmap for comprehensive, sustainable and safe logistics, a tender that was awarded to Ocean Infrastructures Management (OIM), a consulting subsidiary of Ocean Capital Partners, a Madrid-based international firm specializing in the port sector.
