The global port system faces the challenge of decarbonization and digitization with several billion euros of investment at stake. "More than ports, they are becoming smart logistics hubs, with the capacity to handle large volumes of cargo, reducing waiting times and streamlining processes," says a report prepared by the firm Ocean Capital Partners (OCP). The document estimates that improvements in connectivity and optimization of cargo and people movements can translate into cost savings of up to 3 billion euros in the 46 ports of the State.
