Ocean Capital Partners, which is involved in sustainability projects in large docks in the Canary Islands, Murcia and Andalusia, estimates that the installation of OPS systems alone will require interventions worth 450 million up to 2030. This is "only for the electrification of the docks and last-mile infrastructure," says Sara Blanco, its consulting director. But another 4.5 billion will be needed to replace fossil fuel with biofuels and hydrogen, cover the demand for renewable electricity and modernize port machinery.
